Something About Chairs (a seat at the table / a seat of one's own)
New evening-length work by Lauren Baines Dance/Theatre, June 3
Structured as a dance theatre piece, the evening's performance weaves together personal experiences and social theory to explore the intersectionality of power. Incorporating movement and spoken word to explore the dynamics of power, Something About Chairs utilizes chairs (as props) as an extended metaphor to represent both the sources of power and the social obstacles to accessing power.
